Departure Location(s):

La Alberca, Salamanca, Spain 🇪🇸

Scanno, L’Aquila, Italy 🇮🇹

This trip does not have a pre-determined duration. Our current forecast is around 18 to 24 months.

Our trip is divided in 5 phases to focus on the part of the world that we are traveling, dealing with different themes and solutions related to sustainability:

Phase 1: EUROPE

We will leave for our trip on the 5th of June with the objective to pass through Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany and arriving around mid-November in the Canary Islands where we will search for a “boat-lift” to cross the Atlantic Ocean and arrive in South America.

Phase 2 : LATIN AND CENTRAL AMERICA

Depending on our arrival destination, in January 2024 we will start our trip towards the South travelling through the Eastern coast of the continent. After this, we will climb back up from the Western side, until we find a destination (in Central America or USA) to catch another “boatlift” and cross the Pacific Ocean.

Phase 3: SOUTH EAST ASIA

Asia is one of the exploding hubs of new technological innovation for a sustainable future. We want to explore this exciting land analyzing fundamental countries part of the transition, such as China and India, while passing by other Asian countries such as Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Pakistan.

Phase 4: MIDDLE EAST

The Middle East is investing a huge amount of money in the future of renewables and alternative ways of living in a climatically challenging area. We want to explore these initiatives and show that not everything is petrol black.

Phase X: AFRICA or EUROPE

This phase will depend to a great extent on the budget that we manage to save up and the partnerships that we manage to seal.

Option 1: If we still have the capabilities of following the trip, phase 5 might extend to Africa, often forgotten, but with huge potential to be a hub of sustainable development.

Option 2: Otherwise, the trip would conclude its way returning to Europe thought the Eastern side, to reach home by exploring Turkey, Greece and the Balkans.
